Breaking down barriers to career success.

At this year’s GROW Conference with Road to Hire, Spero Hawk led and facilitated a session on Leading & Growing Through Change with Purpose and Intention. Road to Hire’s mission is to invest in the untapped potential of the next generation of leaders by breaking down barriers to career success. This involves continuously supporting high school students in Title 1 schools while also equipping young professionals with skill development and opportunities to unlock economic mobility.

With a dynamic team motivated and inspired to do life-changing and transformative work, it was important to acknowledge the journey as the organization continues to grow and evolve, knowing that growth is not linear. And even before discussing meaningful growth, strong, healthy roots are necessary to the foundational core.

Together, we explored three interconnected components essential to navigating this moment of organizational growth:

  • Bridges Transition Theory – understanding the human experience of change

  • Values & “We Believe” Statements – identifying what’s thriving, what’s stretched, and what must evolve

  • Impact Players Framework – shifting the mindset to elevate culture and collaboration

A real highlight was the photo gallery centering students and families, which showcased the vital role (and impact) that everyone plays in creating access and transforming lives.

And the heart of the day was captured by one of their very own team members: Be Somebody’s Somebody.
